fābula gallery was founded in Moscow in November 2018 by architect Alina Chichikova and curator Elena Fadeeva. The gallery space occupies an annexe of an 18th century Baulin mansion in the historical center of Moscow.
Specialising in mid-career and emerging artists, the gallery’s program focuses on the dialogue between contemporary and modern works of art, carefully chosen design pieces, and collectable furniture.
Although the gallery’s aesthetics have their roots in the abstract painting and sculpture of the 20th century, our represented artists work in a variety of media including video, printmaking, and photography.
The gallery runs an exceptional exhibition programme of solo and group shows. This is supplemented by the publication of catalogues and monographs with an emphasis on the documentation and promotion of the work of emerging Russian artists.
In addition to our exhibitions, fābula gallery is working in collaboration with space-oriented artists, designers and curators, to produce unique interior objects. These create a special environment where the borderline between art and design vanishes.
