fābula gallery is pleased to present the RELAX OFFICE group project at Cosmoscow 2024.

This year, we were inspired by the aesthetics of officecore, so our booth resembles a lounge in the office of a large company. The works of Daria Denisova | dashkamonashka reflect on the theme of corporate aesthetics, using images and attributes characteristic of her, with the irony inherent in the artist. Especially for the fair, Daria will present two new large-scale canvases depicting employees of a fictional office. As always, there will be a visual glitch/glitch in the works, creating a frightening effect. The artist will also create objects that thematize office “life”: using metal blinds and serial mugs with an author’s print.

Elena Filaretova’s paintings from the ”Forest” series are a direct contrast to Daria’s works. Abstract, natural, mystical in nature, landscapes and sketches are the antithesis of the static office visual code.

Sasha Lemish’s digital paintings and lightboxes are a buffer between the aforementioned states. The meditative light canvases with candles, created especially for the fair, resemble hours-long relaxation videos from Youtube, but they are documentation of land art objects created by the artist during his expedition to Russia. Digital paintings, on the contrary, depict fragments of objects and people in limbo between physical and digital reality.

Я (Yana), an artist and performer, will be a special guest of the booth. She will present the performance T.A.B.(The Appearance of Busywork) (IBD), in which the main character, the collective image of an office manager, repeats meaningless repetitive actions that problematize the office routine.

The stand will also feature design items by two authors: a series of minimalistic polyamide objects by architect Mikhail Khvalebnov and daring metal candlesticks by Yulia Solovyanova.
