Nastya Pavlova | The Tail Bit the Other Head

Nastya Pavlova’s artistic practice is the creation of a personal mythology through the study of materials and tools with which she interacts. The artist’s research moves through images flickering in the outside world and the systematization and combination of her own visual techniques. Nastya is fascinated by the “quasi-archaeological process in her own head, the process of searching inside her own fantasies” — images and objects are overgrown with new details and meanings, as if the artist makes new discoveries and finds every time, relying on her architectural and visual background.

In her works, Nastya Pavlova most often turns to ceramics, airbrushing, watercolors and analog sound. All the tools with which the artist interacts on a regular basis suggest the possibility of some unpredictable results and often they do not give the right to take a step back.
