Fābula gallery is pleased to present Stasia Grishina’s solo project ‘Depend Upon Man’. In her work, the artist addresses the established system of relations between humans and animals, reflecting the mechanisms of violence that have been elevated to a cult.

For a long time I could not come to my senses after seeing with my own eyes how a living victim is torn to pieces. The method is to tear the prey apart with lightning speed. The victim dies within two minutes, no more, and is in such an acute state of shock that he can hardly feel pain.

There are those who are considered “careful hunters,” often “strangling” their victim for hours or long years. But am I to judge which death is easier to die?

Only I can imagine myself in the place of the predator or the victim. Only I kill knowing the suffering I cause.
