fābula gallery is pleased to present Marie Lourier’s solo project, Nowhere Special, exploring states of displacement, instability, and fragmented perception through photography. The exhibition brings together suspended environments, urban fragments, abandoned interiors, and images that resist fixed meaning.

Working between staged and found situations, Marie Lourier constructs images in which familiar spaces gradually lose their certainty. Reflective surfaces, accidental objects, harsh textures, and empty scenes exist in a state of tension, detached from a clear narrative or resolution.

In Nowhere Special, ordinary environments become psychologically charged. The project focuses on subtle shifts in perception, where the familiar begins to feel distant, unstable, and difficult to fully recognise.
